Dinner Meetings

Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month, September to June, at St. Anthony Soccer Club Hall, 523 St. Anthony Street, just off Preston Street, at the Queensway in Ottawa.

The meetings start with a social hour at 5:30 pm,  dinner starting around 6:30 pm. A brief business meeting follows the dinner before the evening’s program.

Guests are most welcome but reservations are required. Please call our Dinner Chair as indicated above. We need to know you are coming and to ensure the caterers have enough food for all.

Tickets are $25.00 and are available at the door. The ticket cost covers the dinner, program, as well as taxes and gratuities.

Free parking is available. OC Transpo operates several routes within a short walking distance of the hall.

Please note: OVAR meetings are non-smoking.  Also, out of consideration for those with allergies or asthma, please be restrained in the use of personal scents.

Program (Dinner Meetings)

Programs are varied. They include oral presentations or slide shows on real or model railroad subjects. They may be multi-media shows or interactive demonstrations. For more information see the Train Schedule.

OVAR sponsors an usually-annual Flea Market, sometime during the winter. This offers members a chance to sell off some models or equipment that is no longer of use but gold to someone else. Or it’s a chance to buy some good stuff - or junk.

Displays (Dinner Meetings)

Each month has a different theme. Members are encouraged to bring out and show off their latest models or other railroad related items. This is not a monthly contest, but an opportunity to demonstrate modeling efforts.
