Welcome to the home page of OVAR, one of the oldest train clubs in Canada. Our mission is to promote fellowship and have fun through model railroading.

The Ottawa Valley Associated Railroaders - OVAR - is a club, established in 1961, made up of people who are interested in model and prototype railroading.

OVAR meets the second Tuesday of each month, September to June, to pursue our interest in trains. Each meeting, organized around a dinner (click here for details), presents an opportunity to:

• meet others with similar interests;
• be entertained with a Program presented by local, national and internationally known speakers;
• see what other members have done at the Display;
• have some fun!

Most OVAR members are active model railroaders. Most are happy to share their experience, provide advice and help others facing problems they may already have solved.

The next OVAR meeting is Tuesday September 14, 2010

News: Snow Plow 55400 Campaign

CN has donated snowplow 55400 to our friends, the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario. The Museum needs to raise $10 000 to move the plow from its current location at Walkley Yard to Smiths Falls and restore it. Donations (for which tax receipts are issued) can be mailed to:

Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario
90 William St., Smiths Falls, ON

For more info, contact Steve Hunter at s.c.hunter@sympatico.ca or phone the Museum at 613-283-5696
